Text Huntr ("the App", "we", "us") is a camera-based text search tool that runs entirely on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what the App does — and does not — do with your data.
1. Summary
We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything the App does happens locally on your iPhone. No information ever leaves your device.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
The App does not collect, transmit, or have access to:
- Your name, email address, or any account information
- Your location
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or crash reports sent to us
- Any images, photographs, or camera frames
- Any text recognized by the camera or from your photos
- Search queries you type into the App
3. Camera Access
The App requests access to your iPhone's camera to enable the live text-search feature. Camera frames are processed entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. No camera image or video frame is stored by the App or transmitted anywhere. You can revoke camera access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Camera.
4. Photo Library Access
The App accesses your photo library in two ways:
- Reading photos — when you choose to pick an image from your library to search, the system photo picker handles this entirely. The App receives only the image you select; it cannot browse or read the rest of your library.
- Saving photos — when you choose to save a highlighted image, the App writes one image to your Camera Roll. No images are read from or written to your library without your explicit action.
You can revoke photo library access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos.
5. On-Device Processing
All text recognition (OCR) is performed by Apple's built-in Vision framework, which runs on your device's Neural Engine. The App does not use any external OCR service, cloud API, or third-party server. The App works fully in airplane mode and requires no internet connection.
6. Third-Party SDKs and Analytics
The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs. No third party receives any data through this App.
7. Children's Privacy
The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. It is safe for use by all ages.
8. Data Security
Because no data is collected or transmitted, there is no data stored on our servers to protect. All processing occurs locally on your device and is subject to Apple's iOS security model.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we ever change this policy, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
